What data is processed and why

Chat messages

What you write to Bito and its replies. They are sent to OpenRouter, which passes them to OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini model to generate each reply, and they are kept in temporary memory (Upstash Redis) so Bito can follow the conversation. They are deleted automatically 2 hours after your last message and are used for nothing else.

IP address

Used only to prevent abuse: each address can send 5 messages every 10 seconds and 30 per hour. It is stored only in the counters for those limits, which expire on their own within a couple of hours. It is never linked to your conversation.

Session cookie

A single cookie, bito_sid, holding a random, signed identifier that ties your messages to your conversation. It is only created if you use the chat, cannot be read by JavaScript, works on this site only and expires after 2 hours. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Bot protection

Before a message is accepted, Vercel BotID invisibly checks technical signals from your browser to confirm the request comes from a real browser and not from an automated program. It is used only to protect the chat.

Preferences on your device

Your language, sound setting, whether you have seen the intro and your acceptance of this policy are saved in your browser's local storage (nacho-lang, nacho-muted, nacho-intro-seen, nacho-chat-consent). They are never sent to the server, and you can delete them from your browser settings.

Consent

Before your first message, the chat asks you to accept this policy, and until you do it sends no messages. Your acceptance is recorded only in your browser: you can withdraw it at any time by clearing this site's data, and the chat will ask again. If this policy changes, you will be asked again as well.

What this site does not do

• It uses no analytics or visit tracking.
• It uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
• It does not sell or share data for commercial purposes.
• It has no mailing lists.
• It does not build profiles of its visitors.

Service providers

To work, the site relies on the following services, which process data to provide their service and are governed by their own privacy policies. Their servers may be located outside Argentina, including in the United States.

Vercel

About Bito

Bito is an AI-based assistant and can make mistakes. Its replies are for guidance only and are not offers or commitments from Ignacio Chiappero. Please don't share sensitive data in the chat, such as ID documents, health or financial information, or passwords.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction, update or deletion of your data free of charge by writing to ignaciogabrielchiappero@gmail.com. Since conversations are deleted after 2 hours, there may be no data of yours left by the time you ask.

The data subject has the right to access their personal data free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is shown, as set out in Article 14(3) of Argentine Law No. 25,326. The Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), as the supervisory authority of Law No. 25,326, is empowered to handle complaints and claims from anyone whose rights are affected by non-compliance with the rules on personal data protection.

If this policy changes, this page is updated along with the date of the last update.
