Case #006

Cookify — Smart Pantry Network

Cookify: film your pantry, the AI digitizes it and builds recipes and meal plans tailored to you. From zero to functional in under 24 hackathon hours —…

Technologies

COOKIFY

Social cooking with AI · TypeScript · hackathon

A concept social network built with my brother for a hackathon: track the food in your pantry, get AI-generated recipes based on that digital stock, and meal plans that adapt to your restrictions and goals.

VIRTUAL PANTRY

computer vision · TensorFlow

Film or photograph your pantry or fridge and the system recognizes foods and quantities with TensorFlow and pre-trained models, building the 'virtual pantry' instantly. Manual entry stays as a fallback — AI accelerates, it doesn't block.

static cookbook → adapts to no one

Discarded path

Discarded path: a static cookbook serves no one. The system generates diverse, dynamic meal plans based on dietary restrictions and goals, with a meal-and-portions calendar that updates as the LLM plans.

pantry matching between friends

The social side: a feed to share and rate recipes, a friends system and 'pantry matching' — recipes generated using both people's ingredients. Cooking with what's there, but as a pair.

LLM HARNESS

multi-provider · local models

Harnesses so the model receives the user's full dietary profile before generating a recipe, with multiple LLM providers and even local models. The value isn't the model: it's the system feeding it.

FUNCTIONAL IN UNDER 24 HOURS

honorable mentions · launch on the way

In under 24 hackathon hours the system was already functional — even running on local models. It earned honorable mentions and is about to launch.

STACK

TypeScript with full-stack Next.js deployed on Vercel, TensorFlow for food recognition and several LLM providers behind a single interface. From pitch to deploy in a day.

Let's talk? I'm open to projects and opportunities.
